The best way I can illustrate the purpose of personal branding is to compare it to a first date night.

Imagine if you came to a date and pretended to be who you thought your date wanted you to be, instead of being who you truly were. Your date would get the wrong impression about you and most probably it would end up being a waste of time. Because sooner or later the truth would come up.

I bet you always want to know who the person truly is so you do not waste your time if the core values are not matching.

SO IF YOU WANT A LONG TERM RELATIONSHIP, IT’S BEST TO BE WHO YOU TRULY ARE FROM THE VERY FIRST DAY, SO WHEN YOU DO MEET THE RIGHT PERSON, YOU CAN CREATE A LONG LASTING WONDERFUL LIFE TOGETHER.

So you see, the purpose of branding is to find who you truly are and consistently live according to your highest values and what you stand for SO YOU ATTRACT THE RIGHT PEOPLE. THE RAVING FANS. THE CUSTOMERS FOR LIFE.

This means that the purpose of branding is to create a consistent picture, share your true identity, which should be reflected in everything that you do: in your stories, strategies, your marketing, in your packaging and in your products.

If you have a team, it should be reflected in their work too and they should be fully aware of what your brand stands for too.

Branding is one of the most powerful business tools if you get it right and then you do it right.

Branding is how your audience feels about your company, your products, and services. It’s not just a logo, product or name. It’s what people think and feel it is.

We try to justify everything that we do or buy with logic, however, we are emotional and intuitive beings.

Your company will be seen differently by different people. You really can’t control this. But you can make the influence on your audience if you communicate the qualities that make your product or service different from other products and services in the same niche.

YOU CAN SAY THAT YOU’VE GOT A BRAND WHEN ENOUGH INDIVIDUALS ARE FEELING THE SAME WAY ABOUT YOUR COMPANY.

For example, my favorite sports brand is Nike. Not only I love their style, but I love how they make me feel. “Just do it”.

Finding it hard to force yourself to exercise? – Just do it!

Overcoming challenges? – Just do it!

It’s what I am living and breathing, and I couldn’t love any other sports brand more because it doesn’t inspire me the way that Nike does. Yes, that’s right! It makes me feel inspired to take action!

So to sum up, the purpose of your branding is to create a united picture in your clients’ minds about why your brand is unique and why they should care about it.

Before you start your branding, it is important to be crystal clear on what is your core message and the feeling that you want to deliver to your audience’s hearts.
